Tax Practice on AtlasOS

AtlasOS for Tax Practice (tax_practice) is tailored for specialist tax practitioners focused on SARS return filing, provisional tax management, dispute resolution, and tax advisory. It shares the same sidebar layout as Accounting Firm but with a different module set — AFS Reports and CIPC/Secretarial are OFF, and the default landing view is Inbox (not Tasks), putting email triage front-and-centre.

Key Differences from Accounting Firm

  • Default landing view is Inbox (not Tasks) — email triage is the primary workflow
  • AFS Reports OFF — focused on tax returns, not annual financial statement preparation
  • CIPC/Secretarial OFF — no company secretarial work by default
  • Payroll Obligations OFF — no payroll compliance tracking
  • Same sidebar layout (accounting default)

Tax-Specific Workflows

SARS Return Season

The compliance calendar is the core workflow tool:

  • ITR12 individual returns auto-generated per client entity
  • ITR14 company returns with year-end-aware due dates
  • Provisional Tax deadlines (IRP6) — first, second, and third payments
  • VAT eFiling obligations per VAT period

Dispute Resolution

Use Tasks and Documents together for SARS dispute management:

  • Create structured task workflows for objection and appeal processes
  • Track dispute status with document uploads and timeline
  • Link correspondence via Smart Inbox to the client entity

These features work identically to the accounting vertical — refer to the linked docs:
