Gmail Integration

Atlas connects to your Gmail account via Google OAuth to pull emails into the Smart Inbox. This enables AI-powered triage, entity matching, and task creation directly from your email.

Setting Up Gmail

Prerequisites

  • A Gmail or Google Workspace account
  • Your practice administrator must have enabled email integration in Settings

Connection Steps

  1. Navigate to Smart Inbox in the sidebar
  2. Click Connect Gmail (or go to Settings → Integrations)
  3. Click Authorise Gmail
  4. Google's OAuth consent screen appears:
    • Select your Gmail account
    • Review the permissions Atlas requests:
      • Read your emails
      • Send emails on your behalf
      • Manage labels
    • Click Allow
  5. Atlas begins syncing your recent emails
tip

Atlas uses Google OAuth 2.0 with offline access tokens. Your password is never stored — only a secure refresh token that you can revoke at any time from your Google Account settings.

What Gets Synced

Sync Behaviour

  • Initial sync pulls the last 30 days of messages
  • Ongoing sync checks for new emails every few minutes
  • Manual sync — click the refresh icon to force a sync

Disconnecting

To revoke Gmail access:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Disconnect Gmail
  3. Confirm

Alternatively, revoke access from your Google Account:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
  2. Find Atlas and click Remove Access

Multi-User Support

Each team member connects their own Gmail. This allows:

  • Personal inbox views per user
  • Shared visibility for managers (with permission)
  • AI classification across the entire team's email volume
