MSP Terminology in AtlasOS
AtlasOS is a multi-vertical platform. To feel native for IT managed service providers, it relabels core concepts throughout the interface.
Core Term Mapping
| Universal Term | IT / MSP Label | Where It Appears |
|---|---|---|
| Entity | Customer | Sidebar, entity list, detail views, reports |
| Entities | Customers | Sidebar group header, bulk actions |
| Engagement | SLA | Engagement drawer, customer detail |
| Compliance | SLA Deadlines | Calendar, deadline alerts, reports |
| Service | Service | Service catalogue, invoicing line items |
Sidebar Navigation
The sidebar is structured around MSP workflows:
| Sidebar Group | What It Contains |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Practice-wide KPIs, SLA health scores, revenue summary |
| Smart Inbox | AI-triaged email queue, task creation, customer routing |
| Delivery | Active service work — tasks, tickets, and project milestones |
| Fleet Operations | RMM+ fleet view, endpoint alerts, automated remediation, fleet reports |
| Customers | Customer directory, customer detail, contacts and persons |
| Revenue | Invoices, quotes, pipeline, time entries, recurring retainers |
| Outreach | Broadcasts and bulk communications to customer segments |
| Documents | Shared documents, templates, customer-uploaded files |
| Administration | Practice settings, team management, roles, integrations |
Usage Notes
- When the documentation refers to "entities," your interface displays Customers.
- SLA tracking replaces the compliance calendar found in accounting verticals. You will not see statutory obligation types (VAT, PAYE, etc.) unless you explicitly configure them.
- The Fleet Operations sidebar group is unique to the IT / MSP vertical and houses all RMM+ functionality.
- Delivery is the MSP equivalent of the "Work" section in other verticals.
