Command Palette

The Command Palette is a keyboard-driven launcher that lets you search for entities, navigate to sections, and perform quick actions — all without touching your mouse.

Opening the Command Palette

• Mac: Press ⌘K
• Windows/Linux: Press Ctrl+K
• Or: Click the search icon in the top bar

What You Can Search

The Command Palette searches across multiple sections:

Navigation

Jump to any sidebar section instantly:

• Type entities → jump to Entity List
• Type billing → jump to Billing Module
• Type settings → jump to Practice Settings

Entities

Search your entities by name:

• Type techstart → finds "TechStart (Pty) Ltd"
• Type smith trust → finds "The Smith Family Trust"

Quick Actions

Common actions available from the palette:

• Create Entity — open the entity creation form
• Record Time — jump straight to time entry
• New Invoice — start creating an invoice
• AI Chat — open the Atlas AI advisory

Using the Command Palette

1. Press ⌘K to open
2. Start typing your search term
3. Use ↑ ↓ arrow keys to navigate results
4. Press Enter to select
5. Press Esc to close

Fuzzy Matching

The palette uses keyword matching — you don't need to type exact names. Type part of an entity name or section label and it will find matches.

Sections in the Palette

Section	What it contains
Navigation	All sidebar sections (Dashboard, Entities, Billing, etc.)
Entities	All your practice's entities
Tasks	Active tasks assigned to you
Quick Actions	Create entity, record time, new invoice, etc.
